Update of charity spending of 2010 Bazaar monies

We are happy to inform you that with the help of the Embassies, the 2010 Christmas Bazaar result was EEK 199,800! The money has been distributed as follows:

1.SOS Children’s Villages in Estonia; support to one of the families in Keila
As we have done for the past two years, we will support one of the families in Keila. We have donated EEK 125.000 (EUR 8000). This will cover half of one family’s annual budget, freeing up money for other SOS Children’s Villages in Estonia activities and projects.

2. Battered Women’s Crisis Centre
They requested a new stereo/sound/DVD system for their seminar room costing approx 200 Euro.

3.Lilleküla turvakodu/ Street Kid’s Shelter
We provided them with schoolbags with supplies for the kids at the start of the school year, as this is an important part of keeping the kids in school.
We donated 20 bags, 10 bags for grade school kids and 10 bags for high school kids.

4.Vanalinna Hariduskollegium
We paid for half of the boarding cost for three teenage mothers, EUR 1600. This support helps to keep the girls in school so that they can finish high school.

5.Various Childrens’ homes/ Projects
A number of different projects from several Children’s homes and Organisations requesting funding have been approved. Camping Equipment, further development of a petting zoo, an outing for families with many children etc. We also purchased over 40 storage boxes and a bunk bed with mattresses for the Haapsalu Children’s home.
